The other day I playfully told Anna she had “attitude.” She said back to me, “Anna has tude.” So, now we say she has “Annatude.” This new word really should be included in the dictionary, I think.

A friend gave me the best indoor, winter, busy activity idea - beans. I took Anna to the grocery store and let her pick out bags of dried beans. At home I put them in a dish pan and gave her various toy cups, utensils, and bowls. She will spend sometimes an hour just pouring beans between cups and bowls. It is very messy, of course. However, the 5-10 minutes of sweeping at the end of the activity is, I think, worth an hour of happy, quiet time.
