Anna’s 11 months old!
posted by Amy @ 7:29 pm in [ Baby Pitmon - Anna ]

Our little princess is 11 months old. Okay, actually she’s almost 11 1/2 months old and this update is very late, but I have a good excuse. It’s been total chaos around here and with the little “free” time I’ve had lately brushing my teeth and showering seemed more important than some silly blog.

Unfortunately, Anna had a nasty cold this month (which she shared with me) and her first ear infection. We had about a week and a half of sleepless nights and extreme clinginess. After getting over the illness, Anna had to learn to sleep in her own crib again. Anyway, we got past all that misery and now we’re having the most fun of our lives.

Anna’s language development is improving noticeably every day. She says ball, cat, car, and cow pretty well. She attempts to repeat just about everything we say. All day long she points to objects and says “that?” If we ask her “where’s the snow?” she’ll point outside. She even pointed to a bird in a book when asked “where’s the bird?”. She now shakes her head yes and no, especially no, and points to things she wants.

She loves to play with clothes and often walks around with Daddy’s shirt over her head, bumping off the walls and furniture. She has no fear! She’ll giggle with her little head stuck in the arm of the shirt as she falls over onto the floor.

The other day we visited a little book store where they had almost life-sized stuffed dogs. She was so excited, which she shows by stiffening her arms out in front of her and kind of dancing around. She especially liked the rottweiler. She decided she wanted me to buy it for her and so she pulled my wallet out of my purse. I think she really got the connection between Mommy’s wallet (where the credit card is kept) and taking things home from a store. Scary!!!

BIG NEWS: I quit my job this month and I’m now an official stay-at-home mom. We finally had to accept the fact that it was impossible to work at home while taking care of this very, very, very active toddler. I’m relieved and excited. Hopefully I lose the dark circles under my eyes, and maybe I’ll even find a minute once in awhile to update this blog.
